bdsPakFauj.com is a citizens’ campaign against the capture of the state by an organization of the state, that is the army. It is involved in business, politics, external affairs, elections and many many other functions of state. Our current campaign is against their involvement in business and hope that attention will be paid to other aspects at a later date.
When an army is involved in business and profit-making ventures, there is erosion of democracy and civilian authority. They have full access of the resources of the state, including free land, financing, permissions, authorization, etc. which harms democracy. Corruption and nepotism are other attributes of military businesses. Real Estate deals and shakedown of private developers involving senior General officers have been reported. The mandate of the army is defence and there it should remain.
